Farewell! Kilshaw's Auctioneers is Now Closed

The Human Library Project with Alison and others

Posted by on Saturday, October 27th, 2012 in Archives

In conjunction with our Season of Portraits this fall, the Gallery has partnered with the Greater Victoria Public Library to host The Human Library Project.
Initiated in Denmark in 2000, The Human Library hosts a collection of living books: a diverse range of people who make themselves available for informal conversation. Celebrating the unique, creative, and sometimes controversial individuals that shape the fabric of our community, the Human Library will offer an opportunity to “check out” a graffiti artist, a city planner or even a Buddhist monk. Preregistration is required. Participation is FREE.

Please call 250.384.4171 X0, or visit the Gallery in person to check availability, and “place a hold” on your book of choice. You can also book and visit the downtown library.

Also part of the day’s program at the Gallery, two half-hour tours will be led in the exhibition Beyond Likeness at 1:30 and 2:30pm.
